Cannes, France (September 10, 2024) – Mercury Marine, a subsidiary of Brunswick Corporation (NYSE: BC), and Mercury Racing introduced two new Racing outboard engines during the first day of the Cannes Yachting Festival 2024. Additionally, Mercury announced new color options for the 150hp FourStroke engine and a new mid-range Jet outboard engine.
New Mercury Racing 150R/200R Engines
During the festival, Mercury Racing announced the all-new 150R and 200R outboards, which are built on the well-known V6 platform.
The new 150R and 200R outboard engines are engineered with a primary focus on torque, utilizing a 3.4-liter V6 platform to deliver exceptional holeshot and acceleration without the weight of a V8 engine.
Performance and Technology

Transient Spark Technology: Electronically adjusts ignition timing to provide additional torque for faster starts and acceleration.

Operating Range: At full power, the 150R reaches up to 6000 RPM, while the 200R reaches 6400 RPM.

Precision Control: Both engines feature Digital Throttle & Shift (DTS) for smooth and accurate handling.

Fuel Efficiency: Integrated GPS capabilities—including Active Trim, Adaptive Speed Control, and Advanced Range Optimization—ensure precise fuel delivery across the entire operating range.

Cost Efficiency: These engines are designed to run on 95 RON fuel, helping to reduce overall operating costs.
Electrical Power Management

High-Output Alternator: Equipped with an 85-amp alternator, significantly higher than the 44 to 55 amps typically offered by competitors.

The Mercury Racing 200R is offered with two distinct gearcase configurations to suit specific performance needs:

200R Torque Master: Weighs 469 lbs and is designed for competitive bass boats and other high-performance vessels operating in the 80-85 mph range.

200R Sport Master: Weighs 489 lbs and is built for high-performance boats reaching speeds from 135 km/h to well over 160 km/h.

Shaft Lengths: The 150R is available with 20 and 25-inch shaft lengths, while both 200R configurations feature a 20-inch shaft.
